2021 Olympic

|

After last year’s postponement of 2020 Olympic events in Japan due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Olympic events started today after a year. Still fear of recent spikes of Delta variants in many countries, including US, today’s opening ceremony was reportedly subdued without the usual roars in a empty audience.

Olympic events are great dreams for many athletes who develop passion very early on in their lives and practice every day with a dream to stand on the Olympic podium winning medals for their country. It’s equally a great pride for every participating country and their citizen.

This year, more than 200 athletes from US are participating in this year’s Japan Olympic, of which more than 20 are from Minnesota or have Minnesota roots. Today is the day, to take a little time off from our work, schedule permitting, and cheer our team.

I have dual loyalty. First and foremost, I will be rooting for Minnesota athletes and wish them all to succeed. Then I will root for all the US team members for medals and representing all of us there in Japan and making all of us proud on the World stage.

I will be taking some off from my coding projects and plan to watch the games every evening for the next two-weeks.

Go Team USA!
