Google said in a blog post that it will make several photo-editing tools powered by generative artificial intelligence free to all users of Google Photos, including options like Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light. Starting May 15, Google is said to be making AI powered photo editing features free to more devices, including Pixel tablets. Desktop users require specific Chromebook models, where mobile users need Android 8.0 or iOS 15 or higher.

Google is also rumored to be giving more people access to its Magic Editor tool. All Pixel device owners and premium Google One subscribers with 2TB of storage can save unlimited things. Other people who use Google Photos on Android and iOS would get 10 Magic Editor photo saves per month.

The Magic Editor tool, which was introduced with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, utilizes generative AI to perform various photo edits such as repositioning subjects, removing items, changing the sky’s color, and creating new imagery.
