Experimenting Daily Notes Series

|

During the Christmas season, many Christians churches celebrate advent (a Latin word meaning “coming”) season as a “time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration“. The CNN Travel has a post titled Advent traditions around the world, highlighting advent and general Christmas traditions in various countries around the world.

This year, I am too experimenting to write a Daily Notes series starting from December 1 to December 25 and see how it goes. I plan to write about persons, projects or any new learning topic that I discover during this period.

Inspirational Dev Projects

Many peoples, developers or non-developers, that I look up to and expire to be like them, have tradition of doing some advent projects during the month of December. Some selected tech advent calendars include:

24 Ways

24 ways is the advent calendar for web geeks. For twenty-four days each December we publish a daily dose of web design and development goodness to bring you all a little Christmas cheer.

JavaScript January

All JavaScript. All January. JavaScript January is a curated collection of blogs and tutorials on JavaScript, published every day in January.

Advent of Code

Quoting from its website, “Advent of Code is an Advent calendar of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill sets and skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like. People use them as a speed contest, interview prep, company training, university coursework, practice problems, or to challenge each other.”

24 Days in December

The 24 Days in December site states: “Every year, for the first 24 days in December, we invite members of our PHPamily to share some gifts with us.

24 Pull Requests

The tagline of this projects is “Giving Back to Open source for the Holidays“.
