Fully Vaccinated Fear More About Covid Spread

In The New York Times, John Hoffman writes that most parents attitude towards vaccinating their school-age children is changing due to concerns of Delta variant spread, according to a recent survey.

According to Kaiser Family Foundation‘s monthly survey, ‘about one in four U.S. parents reported that a child of theirs had to quarantine at home because of a possible exposure to Covid-19 since the beginning of the school year’.

In CNN Health, Harry Eaten writes referring from the Axios/Ipsos tracking poll that even though the unvaccinated people are at most risk, they don’t reportedly fear from getting infected from the Coronavirus.

In July, 44% (up from 36% in late June) of vaccinated adults indicated they were extremely or very concerned about the virus. Among the unvaccinated, concern was stable at 23%.

“Lack of fear about the virus is probably part of the reason that the unvaccinated haven’t gotten a shot. It would also explain why it’s difficult to reach much of the unvaccinated through messages about how dangerous the virus is,” reports CNN Health.

In contrast, vaccinated older adults are more fearful of Coronavirus including Delta variant.

I’m worried. I don’t want to get sick. The people who are going about their lives are just in their own little bubbles of selfishness and don’t believe in facts.

According to the AP-NORC poll, 36% people 50 or older were very or extremely worried that they or a family member will be infected. Just 25% of vaccinated Americans, but 61% of unvaccinated Americans, said they are not worried.

According to US News, many unvaccinated people are convinced that the reported Coronavirus threat is overblown and are not willing take vaccine shots.

I’m dependent on what other people do and, you know, I’ve done everything I could do. I wear a mask. I got the vaccine. And for people to be so selfish to not do this, it’s ridiculous. A stubborn point of view keeps them from resolving a health crisis.

Unvaccinated Don’t Wear Masks

According to CNN Health, for most unvaccinated people, getting vaccinated is their least concern and even don’t bother to take other proper precautions such as wearing a mask.

About 35% of unvaccinated adults never wear a mask when they leave the house. […] By comparison, 16% of vaccinated adults indicated that they never wear a mask outside of the home.

According to a new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, vaccinated older adults are far more worried about the virus than the unvaccinated and far likelier to take precautions despite the protection afforded by their shots.

According to the same poll, vaccinated older adults are more likely than the unvaccinated are often avoiding large groups, wear a mask outside their home and avoid nonessential travel.
