Microsoft is Launching Arm-powered AI PCs

According to the Verge, Microsoft is said to be launching Arm-powered Windows laptops (AI PCs) next month in Seattle with a “Copilot for every person” slogan, hoping that finally it can beat the Apple’s M3-powered MacBook Air.

Microsoft believes the upcoming Snapdragon X Elite processors will finally offer the performance it has been looking for to push Windows on Arm much more aggressively. Microsoft is now betting big on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon X Elite processors, which will ship in a variety of Windows laptops this year and Microsoft’s latest consumer-focused Surface hardware.

Microsoft, said to believe that its new PCs with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors known internally as “next-gen AI Copilot PCs”, in order too make them different from other existing PCs that run on AMD’s latest chips or Intel’s Core Ultra processors. “These PCs will also include access to the Windows Studio Effects for background blur and more, alongside the ability to create images with AI models for free and options to allow Copilot to access the context of your PC to improve prompts and answers,” Microsoft told the Verge.

Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be preparing to overhaul its entire Mac lineup with AI-focused M4 Chips.

“Apple is said to be nearing production of the M4 processor, and it is expected to come in at least three main varieties. Chips are codenamed Donan for the low-end, Brava for the mid-tier, and Hidra for the top-end. The Donan chip will be used in the entry-level MacBook Pro, the ‌MacBook Air‌ machines, and the low-end ‌Mac mini‌, and the Brava chips will be used in the higher-end MacBook Pro and the higher-end ‌Mac mini‌,” MacRumors reports.
