Day 04 Of Daily Notes Series

Fortunately, I don’t have any major health issues, however because of age, there were considerable risks of foods I was used to enjoying. Therefore, to live a healthier life in my older age, I decided to give up my meat-based diet and opted for vegetarian diet several years before. Practicing a healthier & vegetarian eating life style was not a fun! Most healthy foods are not testy and avoiding entirely junk foods (eg. sugar, fatty & salty snacks, etc) is lot harder. However, with some discipline, things are looking much better now.

Daily Workout

While I was gradually practicing vegetarian diet, I had also develop a daily routine (about 3o min) of stretching exercise for almost a decade. While I practiced healthier vegetarian diet, I had not been doing more vigorous workouts. Recently I learnt that it is harmful for body metabolism even with healthier diet & moderate exercise.

Being active is built into our DNA. People with active life style experience less chronic illness like heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes and others. It is recommended that at least 4000 steps daily may help to avoid develop metabolic problems.

Recently, I have started practicing more rigorous daily workout routine, however it’s known to be slow process. After practicing for the last six-months, it seems like that I have been successful in developing this new routine into a habit. My current goal is to improve my workout routine with cardio & weights and maintaining at least daily 10,000 steps. Let see I it goes!
