Day 23 – Stay Home Order

Gov. Tim Walz eased some restrictions on Friday April 17, urging Minnesotans to enjoy more outdoor activities but warning against a false sense of security about COVID-19.

Yesterday, Saturday April 18, celebrities from around the globe united in a global broadcast One World: Together At Home to pay tribute to frontline workers and to show support for underserved communities battling coronavirus. The all-star virtual concert featured the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lizzo and dozens of other artists, writes the Rolling Stone.

The Guardian writes the event “broadcast across multiple television and streaming channels around the world, featured a who’s who of pop culture. Filmed from their homes, contributors included Elton John, Stevie Wonder, David Beckham and former US first ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush”. One of the main organizer of the charity event, popular singer Lady Gaga is quoted saying:

I’m so grateful for the healthcare workers, the medical workers, all the grocery store workers and delivery people, the postal workers, all the other nonprofits that are working so hard. This is really a true love letter to all of you all over the world, and I hope a reminder of the kindness that’s occurring right now.
