The Pres. Trump Indictment: A Sad Day in the US History

Regardless of whether one holds democratic, Republican or independent-minded stance, the DOJ indictment of the former-president Donald J. Trump in the classified document case is a Sad Day in the history of the United States.

The second indictment against Donald Trump was released Friday, a day after the former president took to social media to announce the charges. He was charged with multiple counts and is set to appear in court in Miami on Tuesday, where Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon will oversee the case. Although Trump is still eligible to run for president in 2024, Republicans are wary to come to his aid.

The Washington Post

One day after the indictment, the New York Times writes in a headline Trump Documents Case Puts Us Justice System to the Test. The Times asks, “What was Donald Trump’s motive for keeping the documents?” even after repeated US Government requests and subpoena, the question remains unanswered.

This case presents a rare opportunity for numerous ordinary citizens from around the globe to gain insight into the legal system of the United States by closely scrutinizing its implementation in relation to the the wealthy and powerful vs the common citizens.
